Why this name?
The harbour is a place where one finds shelter from the waves of the sea, the violence of the wind and the currents that lead one adrift.
This world appears to us as a stormy sea, buffeted by winds of war and where the current, the so-called “mainstream”, carries every moral value adrift.
The harbour wants to offer a safe harbour to anyone who finds themselves in difficulty as they navigate the rough waters of this world.
The harbour is a place open to all people, regardless of their geographical, ethnic, cultural background.
The Bible often speaks of port cities where the first Christian communities were born. Places where the only glue was the word of God and the love of and for Jesus. Safe harbours, places of peace.
Hence the name.
